Summer Print (2017)

Every season a unique handmade c-print from the archive of Rob Hornstra is offered in the format 36 x 42 cm (14.2 x 16.5 in). The number of buyers determines the print run, up to a maximum of 25. The fixed price is € 145 plus shipping. Once the season is over, the print will no longer be reprinted. This offer is valid until October 1, 2017. Shipping of the print takes place after this date.

“In 2011, writer Arnold van Bruggen and I travelled to more than 60 restaurants over 100 miles of coastline to make Sochi Singers. Without doubt my favorite vodka-soaked evening during that trip was in restaurant Lilya in Lazarevskaya, where Dimitry Bum performed the song Digi Digi. Despite the English lyrics, the song is wildly popular all over the Caucasus.”

In 2012 the series Sochi Singers won the Sony World Photography Awards - Arts & Culture and World Press Photo - Arts & Entertainment Stories.

“As it is, we can take in all the details of decor and setting in what is a fascinating, anthropological look at a social phenomenon.”
