Nikolay Zetunyan, Nizhny Eshera, Abkhazia, 2010.

After visiting Nikolay in 2009 and 2010, we heard he finally died in 2012, after struggling with ill health for a year. His simple grave is in Eshera’s hilltop cemetery, overlooking Sukhum. His house has been locked up and abandoned. His wife lives with one of their daughters some distance away. Once a year someone comes to pick the mandarins in the garden.
