Salman, Nazran, Ingushetia, Russia, 2012.

In 2008 policeman Salman, 35, was guarding a border post between North Ossetia and Ingushetia in Russia’s North Caucasus. He was shot in the head by a sniper, in the continuing rebellion against the Russian regime. He is bitter about how his colleagues from the neighboring republic reacted to the attacks. “The Ossetians didn’t help, only the Ingush tried to save me.”
